Default I Quit!!

After almost 5 years at ERAC, I finally decided to explore greener pastures...outside of the car rental industry. I put in my notice only 2 days ago, and as far as I know, I'll be completing these 2 weeks at Enterprise since I was not asked to leave after giving my notice. My question is this...Will I get paid for any of my unused choice time and vacation days? I have probably about 4 unused choice days and 10 unused vacation days. I could probably look it up in the employee handbook, but after working at the E for this long, well, I'm just too fricken tired.

P.S. I'm going to miss the employees the most, especially the one's who like to cut up and help the time pass.

I don't think you get paid for choice time. You have to take it. They do pay you for vacation days though.

I recently quit too. You do not get paid for choice time that is left over but you do get the vacation days paid to you. You only get the vacation days paid that are M-F as weekends are not included. So expect to get paid for 10 days only. It's actually not a lot. Make sure to push your admin to get whatever is in your 401K and profit sharing. They will tell you that it takes 60 days to make it available to you but Fidelity investments will tell you that you can get it as soon as ERAC sends them the information that you no longer "officially" work for them. Good luck!

My last day at ERac was yesterday. It was very bittersweet. I had so many daydreams of really giving my piece of mind to upper management. Instead I left quietly and alone. Some soft part of me hoped I would be thanked for the four years I had put in and wished well in the future. All I got was a thanks from my Area manager for not making a fuss to everyone that I was leaving. I have never had as much peace as I did on my drive home last night in my own car :) You truly are just a E number at Enterprise and completely expendable. My advice to anyone thinking about leaving is get out while you can. If your not happy now you are never going to be. The job does not change with each promotion. Time, dedication, and hard work all come second to selling cdw and kissing ass. I leave with a quote from a former Area manager when I first started with the company, "you are only as good as your last month." My last month I was number one in my area :)

Fidelity will take 45 day's from the day you quit to get your money. Call them the day you quit, and get what little E crap put in the investment.

Good Luck, and you will be much happier not working at E crap!!!!!

I received payment for all vacation and choice days. I put my two weeks notice in on my anniversary date so I was entitled to the vacation I received on that day. I also persuaded the HR rep and the Regional VP to pay me severance. I had worked my heart out and made no commission for 5 months while rebuilding a garbage office that they personally asked me to go to. I was overlooked due to a lot of change in the division so I was never compensated correctly. All I had to do was mention the hours I worked and the non-management functions that I mostly performed and they immediately offered me compensation for those five months. It is very sad that the only way I could make any money at this company was to quit, however all senior management was sincerely apologetic that this had happened and tried to persuade me to stay with an unreasonable(I didn't think it was fair to anyone else) bonus structure (would have ensured I made a certain dollar amount each month).

WOW, you are the exception, most people that leave get screwed. You were one of the 1% that actually got what you should have.
