Default Re: What made you want to leave

After putting in my two week notice, written formally in a letter and hand delivered to both my AM and RVP, my manager told me that I had to work the following Saturday-the day after my two weeks was up.
Isn't the point of putting in your two weeks to give them time to make any necessary schedule changes or training?
After telling them I would not work the Saturday after my two weeks was up, I was treated terribly by the management. My RVP took the time to come and talk to me during my lunch break (at 3 o'clock!) and at the end wanted to "hug it out." He asked me to call him the next day, which I did, and he never bothered to call back.
The last two weeks of my employment with ERAC ensured me that I was making the best decision for myself. I took the time to go through the leaving process properly and was instead treated terribly by the management. Besides asking me to work an additional Saturday (8am-3pm, yes longer hours than most offices) they also tried to keep me past 8pm and to come to work the next day at 7am. I was also last to get my lunch everyday during that two weeks and they usually started around 3 and were cut short because we were "short staffed" or "had a lobby full."

I hear a lot of complaining seems like mostly people who are just out of college and think that a degree is gunna instantly make them 100k out of college....unless you have a degree at an IVY college or something that is most likely not going to be the case.....I have a lot of people I know and friends as well with degrees and they aren't doing anything special because what it really comes down to is personality and work ethic....if you don't have that you're fucked

agreed, 100k out of college is certainly out of reach for most people.
but the paltry erac pay, even at "management" level, is low for college degreed individuals.
It really depends on your degree...i know engineers that are making 100k within 5 yrs of graduating with only a BS...they started around 65k right off the bat...65k, concidentally, is what ARM's make in my region (high side).
a good bro of mine recently got a construction management job, his first outta college...dude went to a party type of college, proly had a 2.5 gpa or so...and his "MT" position pays 50k with a company truck. in my region no BM is pulling down 50k.
another friend is a teacher...base pay for 9 months was 36k to start, plus awesome teach benefits and perks (xmas break, spring break, etc). after a few yrs he is the head of his department, making substanially more.
what i am getting at is that ERAC's pay is laughable compared to other professional type jobs.
if you a real degree ERAC cannot compare...quality of degree>charisma and work ethic
it sounds like ERAC has mentally beat you down and convinced you that you are only worth 32k...imo

I don't work there however I'm looking around at some job opportunities and I was contacted by a chick from Enterprise who wants to interview me...I don't want the job but I'm gunna go anyway and ask questions about everything I have read in this forum....I have a morbid curiosity about this company and I want to hear it from the horses mouth

They will tell you that you will make 6 figures in 6 years. They will tell you that you will run your own business. They will tell you that Enterprise is the best company to work for and that any other company is crap. they will tell you that you will have a "base" salary of 30 to 35 k but in reality you will be working for $10 an hour. They will never tell you that you will have to clean cars in your business suit (100 or 15 degrees outside) and work 60 hrs a week. They will never tell you that you will ruin every pair of nice shoes that you have and every suit that you have. They will never tell you that you can be the best employee but if you don't sell their optional insurance you won't get promoted (the ones who cheat and take advantage of clients are the ones who will be promoted). And of course they will never tell you that other companies pay 10 to 15 k more to grad students and that they only have to work 40 hrs instead of 60.

Just be sure to mention this web site; that ought to crush her spirits.

I always throw an extra dollar to the person handing me my bag of grease, I am sure that you have some of my $$. Is this K.K.? When I heard that I could not believe it! The nerves they have there. I'm sure you'll be glad to hear that nobody, and I mean NOBODY, likes the new BM and pretty much everyone there is super unhappy (shocker!). Thankfully I am almost out of that hell hole.
