Here's a hint, if you are a single guy who enjoys going out meeting people...do not..i repeat do not take this job. You do not have the energy after 55 hours of running around all week to socialize outside of work. And yes I filled my gas tank up to the brim before I left and used a unit number to a f'n chevy aveo.
Here is another hint....Leave while you are still sane. Erac almost destroyed my marriage, my life, until like others I was recruited by former employees. I devoted my life to erac. I sold like a rock star, super elite every month, and then the second I told them that I found a better life for myself and "MY FAMILY" I was immediately told that it was time for me to go. You are there best friend until you see the "light". Luckily I had former good erac friends that looked out for me, showed me the light, and got me a career, that pays more, you actually get commission on your sales, and best of all I am able to see my wife and kids. TO ALL THAT ARE APPLYING< ARE WORKING THERE> AND ARE THINKING OF LEAVING. Do it now, or you will lose like the rest of them. NOW all you erac lovers and devoted brainwashed employees, if you are going to post a response to my comment, make it worth reading, no more erac rhetoric or bullshit, cut the crap, you and I both know the erac way of ripping off people, bait and switch, the ghost car, its all ILLEGAL and IMORAL, and you are all a part of the big ST. Louis SCAM!!!!

I worked for ERAC for slightly over 2 years. I was a branch manager when I quit--I quit because I literally had a panic attack everyday for 2 weeks before going in to my office-a mere hour from my home. My daily day-leave the house at 600am-get to work by 7 to clean some cars before my dealership started lighting us up at 730am. Maybe scarf down some office lunch I would have to convice my employees was a "good" thing-you know, free food always outweighs an hour to yourself. The end of the day consisted of moving no less than 20 cars back to the branch from the dealership's sattelite and dealing with the most unethical group of service writers and managers. So, I drug myself into my car around 7 or 730 to get home by 8 or 830pm. Have 2-3 hours to myself for my friends, family, husband-then do it all again. However, I do know employees of ERAC that love it-are not brainwashed-have their own opinions-but caught the luck of the draw-had a good path. Enterprise is all about timing-getting the right promotion. My advice to anyone who is thinking of working there or is working there-watch your back-take your time getting promoted-try to control the shady business practices, put an end to them as much as you can control-and get in good with you city or regional manager-they will take care of you. I left the job because of the JOB not the people. I will look back on my time spent with enterprise as a fantastic learning tool. I made many great friends and business mentors. There are good people out there, good employees and ethical managers.

May 2001 to March 2004. I had transferred groups and it was cultish but a lot of us had families and did things as a family. I transferred groups. I was welcomed by a bunch of kids who were self centered, egotistical and never heard the word ethics. This was a cult. It destroyed my marriage and almost took everything out of me. This company is a bunch of used car salesman. They will sell ERAC to you until they are "green" in the face. They will tell you they are family oriented and have compassion for your personal needs. When it comes time for them to do so forget it. They are no where to be found and will be looking for your replacment. I'm much better off with my current job. I wasted almost 3 years with ERAC. I work a 40 hour week I'm still sleeping whne you are renting cars and am home while your still washing them. I'm making more a lot $$$$ too. I have a 4 yr old son and when he was sick I would call in. I got diciplined. My managers dog (this story is no joke either) had the shits and he called in. It was OK for a dog to have the shits but for a 4 yr old it wasn't. ERAC sucks.

Seven months, any longer and I might have been messed up for the long haul. When I put my two weeks in I just knew they would throw me out but the ARM begged me to stay. Get this at the end of my two week notice the ARM said to me will you work Saturday, I said no way and he looked at me and said you did not put your two weeks in writting so tuff "you will be coming in on Saturday and the rest of next week." I left that hour.

I did like the job. Hated the company!

Dear Former Enterprise Friends:

Just been reading over all the comments throughout this website, and I must make a few comments. First, for those of you who did join Enterprise were fully aware of the level of commitment that and Enterprise career entailed, so please, until you have worked their for period longer than a year or two, you really should not be complaining. Second, Since 1957 Enterprise has made significant revenues and profits, (7.4 billion in revenue in 04') continues to expand its operations, and has become one of the largest college recruiters in the country--clearly, they're business model is working. Furthermore, the founding values Jack and Andy Taylor (for those of you who did not stick around long enough, these men founded Enterprise Rent-A-Car in 1957) set forth have enabled them to build a Rent-A-Car business which the rest of the industry (Hertz, Avis, National) envy. In any case, clearly, many of you on commenting on this site were not happy at Enterprise, that's ok, its not for everyone, but there is no reason to bash the company when the truth of the matter is one of two possibilities: either Enterprise was not the right fit for you, or you just could'nt deal with the intensity of the job. Sit and stare at your computer screens, while myself, and the rest of the thousands of successful employees at Enterprise continue to build businesses, careers, and strengthen our communities.

Sincerely,

A very satisfied MT at Enterprise Rent-A-Car

If you are an MT then you either have not been with the company that long. You will see that most of the comments posted here are indeed true no matter what group you are in. Some are better than others but the company as a whole is awful.
If you have been with the company for a while and are indeed still an MT, I suggest updating your resume and start job hunting. ECRAP will stab you in the back in a heartbeat. Like others have said print off MSO1's and document so you have it when needed. ECRAP will have no mercy for you.
I was brainwashed with the ECRAP they handed to me. I was a great employee that sold my ass off. The lack of ethics, the lies and the way ECRAP treats others is what did me in. If you don't think it's true look at some of the actual ECRAP employees that post here, like Enterprise Warrior. This ECRAP follower automatically insults and puts down anybody that goes against the cult. Many others do the same thing.
Please post back in a year or two and let us know if you feel the same then.
