Second, Since 1957 Enterprise has made significant revenues and profits, (7.4 billion in revenue in 04') continues to expand its operations, and has become one of the largest college recruiters in the country--clearly, they're business model is working. Furthermore, the founding values Jack and Andy Taylor (for those of you who did not stick around long enough, these men founded Enterprise Rent-A-Car in 1957) set forth have enabled them to build a Rent-A-Car business which the rest of the industry (Hertz, Avis, National) envy. In any case, clearly, many of you on commenting on this site were not happy at Enterprise, that's ok, its not for everyone, but there is no reason to bash the company when the truth of the matter is one of two possibilities: either Enterprise was not the right fit for you, or you just could'nt deal with the intensity of the job. Sit and stare at your computer screens, while myself, and the rest of the thousands of successful employees at Enterprise continue to build businesses, careers, and strengthen our communities.

Sincerely,

A very satisfied MT at Enterprise Rent-A-Car

You make good points, as a systems analyst, I have seen and marveled at the Enterprise machine. A Chines manufature I work with says business is war, I have not seen combat anywhere like combat at Enterprise. All great systems fall onto themselves, do to their great weight, it takes a business person of great wisdom to understand this concept. If you understand you are expendable then you will prosper, if you do not you will not be so lucky. Enterprise is boot camp for the next generation of business people. The new market place is not only more complex than it has ever been but it is also hypercompetitive. Brand loyalty and decent margin are almost gone; the customer has been trained by large companies to get anything and in any quantity they want. A great Economic professor I had said we are living in a Star Trek like future where there is no more need only wants and, the customer wants and wants. I have seen the endless lines. I choose not to work hard but make very good money. I have abandond the protestant work ethic and I am super happy.

You sure are making a difference renting cars like a fastfood worker sells burgers and washing them in your suit! You're building a business indeed just like you're bettering the community you live in. Do us a favor and turn off the water to conserve when you're in the mode of scrubbing down the car. You will help the community and environment by this act of water conservation!

1 year. I love when people bash on the people who quit because they are brainwashed. I loved the people I worked with. But I hated being a scam artist and a liar. You can say that is what sales people are. Maybe thats what they are but i hated feeling like a dirtball all the time.

1 year to the day. I quit and went back to school on my MBA. I don't know how I'm gonna pay my bills, but its better than work at ERAC.

It is probably not a record, but it left an impression with me:

A girl who started the day I did, came in on her second day right before the branch opened and turned in a written resignation to the BM. She said goodbye to me and left. Immediately, both BM and AM starting saying shit about her like "she couldnt hack it" "what a loser" etc etc etc. That is the very instant I realized how evil this place is and how evil it makes people become.

march-oct 94: an MT in two rental branches.

nov 94-jan 96: a level I administrative employee at the group level.

feb 96-nov 97: a level I administrative employee at the regional level. the group regionalized.

dec 97-june 02: a level II administrative employee at the regional level.

never made level III because i wouldn't kiss my last supervisor's a$$. when she figured that out, she told me to stop trying to get promoted or make a geographical move to make III at another group or region. my homestate, family, and friends meant/mean to much to me, unlike her.

6 months. But that was a very, very long six months. I never made it past MT.
I am now a librarian making about twice as much and I am very happy. Instead of jamming horrible products down peoples throats, I play Xbox with teens and show them how cool reading can be.
Much better than washing cars....
