I was 19 when i started. A few weeks later I was still 19 when I jumped ship. I recently quit and right now it feels like I just came out of a two week drinking binge that was not fun...petrifying and eye widening..but not fun. How to sum up my experience at Enterprise? for 4.5 years not a scratch on my driving record, never bumped into anything etc... within a week at Enterprise I was already involved in two accidents (one fault, one not at fault). Basically I feel lied to, betrayed and sick to my stomach. No were during my interview or in training did they mention id be doing up to 3 return/drop off valets all over the city and downtown per day. When they saw that I am currently enrolled in an Economics and Finance degree during my interview, they mention I could be doing some A/R, checking over B/S, things that could help my degree Thats kind of hard to do when your either out of the office all day driving, or dealing with 2 different customers in the office with like 4 phone lines going off at the same time all throughout the day. I remember the exact moment I knew that I wanted to quit. about 5 minutes into my office or "office", I already thought to myself " Fuck me, what did I just get myself into!" Anyways after my first day, and yes they did start our class of interns on a FRIDAY, I worked from 745 to around 7 with no lunch break and spent 10 hours assuming the role of a make shift cab driver and car washer. That night I tried to research some info about RALPH to find out perhaps some tips about how to navigate the geriatric software. That lead me to this sight. As soon as I noticed a thread with 1000's of post about not receiving a lunch break it was like that scene from the Matrix were Neo truly wakes up. Ive seen some people say it took them months or years to see through the smoke and mirrors that is Enterprise. I ran out of Kool aid pretty much after my first day. I can rant on about other crap that i did not approve of at Enterprise but Ill save it for other posts, for now Im just happy to feel free again, no more monkey on my back each night, no more 25 reservations the next day with only 5 cars on our lot, no more trying to look a somebody between the eyes when I give them my Shtick about the beneficial Enterprise "Protection" package. I feel bad abandoning my coworkers n manager, they were all great people, but it got to that point were I felt like puking everyday I woke up and that was only after a few days!!!!!!!!. All I can say is keep on rolln' failing enterprise, and free the people. P.S. instead of dishing out my employee discount to family members im now gunna give them your print n go checklist so they don't get screwed over.

I was 24 when i started 26 when i left but i felt like a 50 year old man. Now I am 27 and havent felt this good since before I worked at enterprise. Run 3 days a week and lift 3 days a week! at the gym by 4:30. Used to not get home until at least 7. What a lie and joke enterprise is.

Yea its funny, I met my wife at enterprise. I left the company and she still works there. I never get to see her and I swear all we talk about is this life sucker of a company when we do see each other. She has been there five years and given up the golden years of her twenties just to rent fucking cars. I work IT and get to show up to work in shorts and a t-shirt. I get paid double than her and work 1/3 of the hours. She graduated from a great school and here she is wasting her talents and life while destroying our marriage just for Andy. DO NOT MARRY ANYONE AT EPRISE! I LOVE MY WIFE BUT ITS JUST TOO MUCH TO CONTEND WITH YEAR AFTER YEAR.

What's funny is most people don't realize that you did make millions. Were you a GM that opened a group at the full 15%? But I do know that the quality of life at ERAC, even for GMs, isn't what it should be for ALL ERAC employees. My admin level 3 was forced out after 17 years but there was never help in looking or suggestion to look for a different job or acknowledgement of the 60 to 80 hour weeks put in to get the job done. Marketing Pyramid Scheme hmm lets see. GM on top 1 to 3M a few RVPs here 750K more Area Managers 325K More Branch Managers 65 to 100K ABMs 45K MTs 25K look at that, about 6 layers and the peak makes how much more please note, numbers are just best guesses based on specific instances of knowledge Wow, you're crazy! No way in hell does an area manager even sniff close to 325K, that is OUTRAGEOUS!!!!!!! My area manager had a nice collection of offices in a very rich suburb of DC with a lot of luxury car res's and weekend rentals and he made in the mid 100K range. It's good money with a lot of nice perks but no where close to 325K plus you'll still be working at least 50 hours a week. Also, your numbers are inflated for BRM's as well, I had several buddies that were BM's and only one of them made over 65K. Mid to upper 50's is much more reasonable which isn't bad money at all but when you think of working 55-60 hours a week for that paycheck it's easier to see it's not really that good. All the ERAC recruiters do is sell you a lie, I was told MT's in DC make 35K, ARM's 50K, BM's 75-80K, Area Managers 150K+ and RVP's well over 500K. This is total bullshit, I know what I made as an MT and ARM and only once in 3 years of MT/ARM experience did I clear 42K. Don't let them suck you into the talk about great salary, it's all a lie!!!!!!!!!!! At ERAC it's all about the work, work, work mentality with no time for family or friends, the Taylor's are running this business like it's still the 1950's, wake up dipshit it's 2008.

I left at 23 and I would rate my joy at leaving only second to my wedding day. It was actually funny, I was an intern there and because my boss was bad at math and I studied accounting, she let me do the accounting for the branch (which is not very complicated but was more fun then renting cars). One day, she said to me, "You know, you should really be an accountant" You can guess what I ended up doing... I can say that I did not waste too much of my life there, however, three months was long enough to know it wasn't for me. I remember telling the manager (pate wade, supposedly somebody important in MN but to be honest, I never cared to find out ) that it just was not for me and he said "what do you mean, who is it for then?" I very frankly said, "I don't know, someone without many other options I guess". He was a bit miffed about that but whatever. I don't even list them on my resume' to tell you the truth. Sometimes, when I'm having a rough day at work I just drive over to the branch and watch them run around like chickens with their heads cut off. Really wish I would have found this site earlier. I did not do anything cruel or mean when I left, I just left, and like someone who has been a POW, tried to forget about it...
