Default Memories of the day before Thanksgiving

Well, I am at work today, but I'm leaving at 2. I have yet to have a customer yell at me because his promised mini-van has suddenly become a 15 passenger van or a full sized car.

I worked 2 of these days at ERAC. They were not fun. I just remember the Tuesday night looking at the reservations we had for this day and wondering what the hell I was going to do. That was my first year. After I became manager, I got smart. I took ZERO van deals, but would keep every van I got. Then, when other offices ran out, I would pick and choose the deals I would take. I'd keep the deal, get the income, and be the hero to the customer. It worked like a charm and was awesome.

Just gott learn the system.

Last year we were actually able to fullfill all of the van and large SUV reservations, getting some pretty good rate on all of them. It's a terrible day though, everyones in a rush to see relatives they don't like. I think the day before Christmas is worse...just as busy but colder out.

On a positive note, how good does it feel to have Friday off this year?

I HAD WORKED 5 THANKSGIVINGS AND HATED EVERYONE. YESTERDAY, I BOOKED 5 MINIVANS FOR TODAY. JUST TO MAKE THE BOYS AND GIRLS SCREAM A LITTLE AT MY OLD AREA MNG. AND TO TAKE SOME MONEY OUT OF HIS POCKET FOR A CHANGE. YES, I DID DRIVE BY AT 6 PM TONIGHT AND SAW 4 MINIVANS SITTING THERE.
ONE FOR THE GOOD GUYS.
HAVE FUN WORKING ON FRIDAY AND SATURDAY.

It was so nice to be off Friday this year. I am looking forward to being off from Dec 22 thru Jan 2nd paid by the comapny I work for now. No more Saturdays ever. Enterprise employees are either too young to understand or have only worked there and have not experienced working for a great company.

I too had a pleasant Thanksgiving holiday; first one in a while. My boss cut us loose Wednesday at lunchtime, and I didn't have to think about work again until Monday morning. It AMAZES me when the end of the week comes around and I actually forget its Friday, or worse yet am disappointed that its Friday and I don't get to go to work the next day.

Every time I get frustrated at my current job, I can always say to myself..."Thank God I'm not at ERAC washing a weekend special cash rental disguisting car in my suit in the 100 degree heat and being told we need to get our ESQI up!"

Ah I remember the days at erac. How could I not they sucked out 4 years of life from me. This time of year go to work in the dark and come home in the dark. Erac says they want work life balance but don't even give you the time off during the holidays to be with your family. I don't think my daughter knew who I was until I quit.

Ah...how great Thanksgiving break was this year.

Last year, that term was literal. I had Thanksgiving as my break.

Get a real job people...just leave Enterprise. Life has so much more to offer than what you are living

Default Christmas too...

Ditto on the Great Holiday this year. I spent 9 years at ERAC. I've been gone for 4. I was, drumroll please.....off from December 11th through Jan 2nd. PAID. I spent much of that time in Hawaii...started it off with the u2/Pearl Jam concert. Life is good on the other side.
I will remind everyone though...those of us who mention how well we're doing were probably very successful at ERAC. If you're not good at sales now, you won't be anywhere else either. Be mindful of that when looking at other opportunities.
