I have been at Enterprise for just about two years, and I am coming to the end of my rope. I have busted my ass for this company like countless others. I am tired of not enjoying my outside of work life because I am worried about the next day, I am tired of starting to worry about monday when the sun goes down on sunday. We rarely have cars for the people with reservations and when we do half the time the people dont want the car. I used to love it, I really enjoyed running my office and what not. Generating income controlling cost all that stuff. Now I cant do it any longer. The constant complaining of customers people trying to get over on us has gotten to me. I feel I have been fairly successful in my time at Enterprise. Can anyone help me with suggestions on the different avenues to find jobs? I am trying to get out of the martix and achieve the happiness that so many others on this sight have attained.

First and foremost, use up all your choice time before you give your notice. Im sure you are aware you loose unused choice time the moment you give your notice. Don't worry about vacation days, cause they will pay you for those. As far as the job search....look up search engines, sunday paper if you wanna stay local, use customers that you meet in the office that work with companies that you are interested in. For example, we had a lot of fleet deals at my old branch. Most of the fleet customers were pharmaceutical reps. If that is a field you wanna get into, get to know one or two of those customers, and get their insight and recommendations. Or maybe real estate is your interest, find those. If you are going into sales/marketing field, having erac on your resume hopefully will help you. Any job fairs in your area soon? Good luck! I hope you get the heck out very very soon.

Get that brag book together as well as your resume. Don't quit until you already have signed elsewhere. Keep your resume very achievement/accomplishment based & show any promotions you've had. Don't post your resume on the public job boards or else admin will find you. Send me your resume and I'll see if I have anything available in your area. On your resume remember to show: 1) Promotions 2) Achievements 3) Rankings #? out of 240 employees in region for dw sales @ x% aftererac@yahoo.com or You can post your resume on mrinetwork.com This is a private site in which you have to be employed by MRI in order to view the resumes on it.

When I decided to leave ERAC the first thing I did was give my 2 weeks notice. It was just going to be too hard to look for a job, set up interviews and go to interviews while still working there. Right after ERAC I was able to get a decent job at the local mountain and I bartended a couple nights a week at a nice restaurant and was able to make more than I did while at ERAC. My jobs were both very flexible as far as taking time off for interviews. I was very selective about what jobs I interviewed for and it took me almost a year to find the job I really wanted. Almost 4 years later I am very happy with my decision and still loving my job. Don’t rush into anything, be picky, there are lots of great jobs out there. Good luck!!

I feel you man I worked at that hell hole for 2 1/2 years and started out by posting my resume online at monster, careerbuilder, and yahoo. Then I started talking to some recuiters and told them what I was looking for. Definitly only take choice time days to interview and save the vacation. Also another thing they did in my area is that when you gave a 2 week notice they told you to go home on the spot. So I planned starting my new job around this and gave them my 2 week notice at 5pm on the Fri before I was supposed to start my new job on Mon. Definitly network with customers and sell urself to them. I wish I could help out everyone by hiring them away from ERAC, but I cannot. I have made a vow to myself that I will get revenge on Enterlies for taking 2 1/2 my life that I can never get back.
