why would you want to throw any money toward this company??? Even discounted rentals add up to revenue. IF you hate ERAC so much, go rent from Hertz, "They'll pick you up!"

Here is how you get the best deal gauranteed. Call the Branch you want to rent the car at, tell them you need to rent the car to go to a relatives funeral, rent the car, take the spare out of the back and throw it away or sell it onEbay, I know some of my friends have done it, call in the next day and say you missed the funeral because of a flat tire and no spare, you will get a free week and then some. I have seen it work!!!!!!!

That's a good one. The great thing is that it doesn't even matter if during the (check out) walk around they checked the trunk for a spare because the customer is always right at Enterprise.

I have to say I am thankful for getting screwed over by numerous customers because now I have the advantage when I go into a business and want to complain and get something for free. Enterprise made me into a hard ass by making me deal with all that crap day in and day out.

I like it! I alsways used the one that I worked for Farmers/Statefarm and got the insurance rate. These rates are all negotiated but I remember Farmers being the cheapest in the Phoenix area.

I have a rinky dink blog Hornswaggled.com where I have a few rants of my own, I was suprised at the number of comments I recieved that I had to delete telling me how I was a bad person for encouraging people to lie. Im all for helping the cause of former employees trying to spread the word.

One thing I can say for sure is if your car is lucky enough to have floor mats, take a look on ebay and see how much they go for. Anyone want a free rental?? Just sell the mats and no one will ever know they are gone. Spare tires are too heavy to sell/ship in my opinion.

Now I don't like ERAC they are not good to their people and it sucks to work there, but it's scams like this that make it suck worse and encourage some of the shady deals everyone here gripes about in order to regain money lost. If you don't like them don't use them. It's fine to try to get a deal, everyone does, but scams end up costing everyone in some way or another, besides it doesn't always work. We had a guy try that on us once. He had a problem though. The car he tried it in had been a nightmare for the last week for a bent rim. Took us that long to get a new rim and tire in. When we got the new one in the tire co put it on and forgot to put the spare back, rare as it is we caught this the walkaround. We had other cars and switched that customer, went and got the spare, and I put it in the car myself. When I told the customer trying to scam me this he argued with me and tried to bluster his way through unfortunately for him this was close to the time I quit so I just said I know the spare was there when he got the car and if it wasn't there when he returned he was paying for it, and oh what do you know he found the spare, and wasn't it amazing that he fixed the tire himself.

call at like 1:30 and just say your pricing cars to see if you can rent one for the day. any decent manager will try to get the car with the highest holding cost off the books asap. I did like the idea of the condom under the seat. that would work well too. oh, also if you got a big bag of garbage and empty beer bottles, toss that in the trunk. an old playboy, could have the same affect, but just make sure some of the pages are stuck together.

This is what I plan on doing when I leave: use the watchtower (jehovahs Witness) corporate account FFC1700. They have dirt cheap rates. 32 for ccar, 54 for lcar. they compain all the time too, so its not unheard of to take additional discounts.

Yes, yes!! Please post a discount number! I've been screwed over in an auto accident and had denied the rental coverage on my insurance policy, only days before. Now I need a rental and the biggest discount I can get my hands on!

You are entitled to body shop/insurance rates regardless if you have rental coverage. Make sure you have a claim # and they will give you corresponding rates for ins comp. I would also tell your body shop rep, and he will usually call BM at ERAC and tell them to get you even a better rate. I dealt with this call 5 times a week, and it always resulted in getting customer a better rate.
