| It's another ERAC "service" to their customers. Joe Corp Acct calls wanting to make a rez for an out of town trip in another city. ERACer says "I can't set that up here, let me call my VIP line"...it's just a direct line to a department at Nat Rez where they can take care of making the rez quickly. Recently there had been a crackdown on having the customer call VIP directly (a common ERAC blowoff technique to have the customer call so that the ERACer didn't have to spend the time on it) because customers were calling and taking up a lot of time by asking lots of questions, etc. In theory it sounds special, but anyone can call the Nat Rez # and get the same prices/results. A corp acct # gives you special rates everywhere, the VIP doesn't add any discounts. |

| Well, if you must know. I think my family had it worked out quite well... 1st, my brother got a job with ERAC - that way the rest of the family could enjoy the family discount. 2nd, I got a job at ERAC - that I got the EMPLOYEE rate (this rate normally comes with a longer wait for your car because "you know the deal, we are tring to find a car now". 3rd, my other brother got a job at ERAC- God only knows why after he had heard all of the stories. I think he though we were making shit up. 4th, Marry an ERAC employee. That way, when you have friends and family come to your wedding you can get 8 rentals @ 50% off. Shit, I forgot... "you know the deal, we are trying to find your 4 minivans, 3 full size cars, and one ICAR. We have a 2 dr Mercedes, it's only $89.99 with the ins rate" Then gradually you all quit untill, eventually only your wife remains - You see, that way you get to keep on getting the 50% off. Then if you give the usual line(s); I had to wait, and the car was dirty, and it had no gas, and SMELLED OF ASS. You be walking away with another 20% - 30% off on top of the 50% you already got. Or you can go to HERTZ ?? |

If you were really smart, you'd have all put yourselves down as each others' referrals on the employment application. Groups will pay anywhere from $500 - $2000 for an employee referral, since it saves tons on recruitment costs. Stick it out for 90 days and wheel home a nice fat paycheck. |

| Tell them you were fucked by Michael Jackson at ten years old, overpay your taxes, your wife cheats cause you look like Al Bundy of Married With Children fame, you have AIDS, and, most importantly, you voted for John Kery. They will definitely give you the 35% family discount, no questions asked for your suffering. ANON |

| Go to the ERAC webpage, find the airport and play with rates, extending it out for a week or a month. the computer will cut the weekly rates into 1/5 or sometimes 1/7 for the daily rate. then just keep the car for the day or two you need it. you can get a $11/day car this way some times. You can also try monthly rates if the weekly rates are high. and of course enter that corporate account number for the 10% off! if rates are really high even this way, make the res for another day when the rates are low, then call the branch and move the res. if this doesn't work claim that erac screwed up and ask for the area managers name, this should get you what you want. if not ask for the RVP's name and RASIE HEll-you'll probably get it free that way |

I always liked getting a friend/family reso. Almost always I gave at least a one car upgrade. I can't count the number of times I gave an SUV for the price of an ICAR or CCAR. The rentals were not usually long, a week at most, and it was from someone who had a relative work for the company so they were in 'the ERAC family'. The customers were almost always cool because they were getting a deal. Over the years I can't remember too many that were bad. I did not have problems. |
