Default Ex-ERACer Needing Rip Off Tips For Rental

All right guys, I hate to admit it but I worked for ERAC for a number of years and it was hell. I washed cars, lied to customers, ruined about 50 ties from being sucked into a vacuum, washed cars in 100 degree weather, etc.

Here's the deal: I want to rent a car from them, purely to use my old techniques and get a cheap deal. You know, 'the car smelled bad--MT deducts 10%, etc. I usually call in and say my cousin works for the company and I he told me to tell you so I get some type of family discount. You know, the 35% family deal. Well, I tried it yesterday and they told me to have my friend call set it up in the computer....SH*T!

Now, they gave me the VIP hotline and I think I can probably wing it by knowing all that crap from a few years ago but wanted to get advice from anyone on how to get a better deal or anyway to get around this little setback.

Any advice? I thought about calling and saying I was an adjuster, lord knows how much they get a deal and I know enough of the 'lingo' to get around but I don't know if it's the best way.

Couple of different ways. You can say you work for a company that has a corporate account and get the discount with that. You can find a rate at a rinky dink shit hole car rental joint and have them beat the price. Finally, you can gain access to a car seat and bring it with you to the branch. Rent an expensive car and then throw a used condom under the passenger seat. Call the branch the next day and say that your son/daughter found it under the seat and was playing with it. Your rental will be free. Good luck.

Dude, don't be weak. Use every line, tactic and asshole comment used against you and turn it on its head. I quit erac about 3 months ago (branch manager in the bay area) and rented a car recently. Hated doing it, but once you realize how lame they all look on the other side of the counter it all comes quite easily. Went to the newest employee, asked if they were out of cars and how their staffing was and waited patiently for their asst. manager to help us. We got them to match the rate of alamo for $300 a month for a ecar, but had to give free upgrade to a fcar because i told them that we didn't have time to wait. use it against them and liberate yourself from the deespair of the green!

If you worked for Erac for a number of years, then you should know how to work the system. You need an employee number to set up a discounted rez on the VIP line. You need to brush up on your Erac scamming tactics.

WHy don't you stop being so fucking cheap and rent a car the way you should. Why would you want to make it hard for some new employee when you know how ti feels, You're an asshole.

Tell them that it is an insurance replacement rental but you are being reimbursed. Tell them that the car is totalled so they can't check up on it.

There's a VIP hotline?

Tell us more. What does it get you that regular customers don't get? What do you have to claim in order to get "VIP" treatment?

What's the number?

It is really for internal use. IE joe employee calls the VIP line to either set up a rental for himself or family or for a preferred dealership owner etc.
