Default I Hope All Of You In London Are Alright

Hello All,

I don't know what the region or group number is for London but I hope you're all alright.

There may be a lot of people wanting to rent cars there during the next few days or weeks due to public transit repairs and I hope Enterprise will show compassion by not using the opportunity to price gouge.

They could also show some compassion by temporarily suspending the practice of taking reservations for cars that simply don't exist. Our good friends in London have suffered enough today; I hope Enterprise will give them a break.

If you were in the area today, let us know how you're doing.

I HATE erac as much as anyone, but one thing is for sure, erac does not take advantage of these types of situations...they do the right thing! Now, taking reservations when there are no cars...that wont change...lol

Erac doesn't always do the right thing, that's for sure. After 911, our group put this insane drop charge onto the bill for those that wanted to drive one way to another state when the flights were grounded. The took so much backlash from the customers, that the VP had to make a call to St. Louis to get the ok to "be more compassionate." Erac does what it needs to to save face in those situations, but make no mistakes, they still care only about profit and the bottom line.

To the English posters,

I hope you're all right and no one you knew fell victim to what happened today. Sparky, Sparkle, Dazzle..and anyone else...Hope you guys are ok

Enterprise will not raise prices - besides which at the moment you would get home quicker walking than trying to drive. looks like everyone is OK. Have copied and pasted a couple fo the emails today. I`m sure the recepients wont mind. There are more important things at stake today than bitching about our employers/former employers/rental company/people who bitch about erac...

Folks, Just a further update: Our employees are all safe and sound. So far, we believe that all family and friends are all ok as well, but still awaiting confirmation. Many mainline bus and train services in and around the area are up and running. The entire underground network (Tube) is still not operating. We are hoping our London central city branch network will be fully operational tomorrow. I will have another update for everyone in the morning U.K. time.

Thank you to everyone for the additional support that we have received.

As you are all probably aware, Central London has had a series of

explosions go off this morning in and around a 3 mile radius.

All of our employees are accounted for and we are in the process of

confirming family and friends.

Currently we have evacuated our Tower Hill employees (U128 to Bow, U105

and forwarded their phones). We have also evacuated our Waterloo employees, U109

to Hammersmith U125 and forwarded phones as well. Police are advising us

currently to continue operating out of our Maidavaille location which is

located on Edgeware Road. Edgeware Road has however been closed down. Our

Russell Square location is still currently operating and waiting police

advice. Please do not make any unnecessary calls to these branches as phone

lines are heavily tied up. Traffic in and around these areas are at a complete

standstill with many roads closed. As we have further updates, we will inform

everyone. For all Enterprise contacts that manage any National Accounts, Please

ask them to bare with us within the Central London area until things are up

and moving once again.

Chris Adams

By now most of you have heard about the senseless tragedy in London this morning. During the morning rush hour, several bombs went off in the Underground subway and on a double-decker bus, all in a three-mile radius of central London.

Though our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by these blasts, we are pleased to report that all our Enterprise employees are accounted for. We are in the process of confirming that none of their family members were affected either.

Currently, we have evacuated our Tower Hill, Waterloo and Russell Square branch employees in central London. All other operations are running. With many roads closed in and around London, our employees in those areas continue to do an outstanding job during a very stressful and difficult time. I thank them for their resolve and spirit.

We ask that you do not make any unnecessary calls into London as phone lines are still heavily tied up. If there is any additional information that affects our employees or our company, we will be sure to pass it along to you.

Pam

All puts bitching about hours etc into perspective doesnt it? Just get the bastards. They will deserve everything that comes to them.

We waived drop fees and let the cars go wherever. The company lost "tons" of money due to the logistics of it all. The way it was handled howerver, made me proud.

Geez Admin. Give the overbooking and price gouging thing a rest. It didn't happen in the US on 9/11 and it won't happen there. You know our sturcture. When this happened while I was still at the E, we waived tons of drop charges, let cars go wherever nationwide, and DID NOT overbook.

You sound as if they were DELIBERATELY gonna screw people.

The bigger picture prevailing, I DO hope all in London are ok. I don't know exactly the tone over there, but according to the media we are receiving, you look strong!!! Keep the fight, Keep the faith, punish the guilty!

According to Sky News, the 2 attempted car bombs yesterday were Iraqi-style and warnings have been evident of an Al-quaida type attack in London for weeks now. This has been typical of terrorist attacks in recetn history after an administration change in the U.S.
1) Libya bombs plane bound for U.S. over Scotland in Dec. 1988. Reagan was outgoing president, Bush Sr. in January 1989
2) First World Trade Center bombing in Jan. 1993 just after Bill Clinton took office.
3) USS Cole United States Navy warship suicide bombed in Oct 2000, one month before presidential election.
4) Sept 11th 2001, GW Bush in office only 8 months.

Trend or coincidence?
