Default Is the grass greener?

I just thought I'd start this thread up for you opinions. I have recently left ERAC and I'm loving being on the outside... for me the grass is definitely greener! I know what you're thinking, it's 'honeymoon' time on the outside, but talking to a few who have left a while ago the concensus is most are happier on the outside. What are your thoughts?

What's the average wage inside ERAC now versus outside (I am now earning a lot more)?

I know some have gone back after leaving ERAC, but what's your view?

I left three byears ago and my salary package has more than doubled. It will rise even further and even treble when I finish my exams. The company would not back me on these courses so I did them myself out of my own pocket.

If I were still at Erac, I doubt my wage would have even gone up £3k in that time. One year I was rewarded for my efforts with a £350 pay rise. I left shortly afterwards

The grass is significantly greener on the other side. In fact it's downright lush, well manicured and completely weed and moss free!

I'm earning about what the average branch manager's salary is so although I'm not earning any more I'm doing about half as many hours as a branch manager would do, work in a more pleasant environment, get more holidays, more perks, and have a better lifestyle. These are the things that matter.

It depends on what is important to you really - Is more time for yourself and your family important? Is good health important? Is being able to sleep without dreaming of where the V3 for 2moro morning is coming from? Is earning a good wage for the work you are doing?

If the answer is yes then hell yeah - I was forced to leave due to an injury picked up in a work related RTA caused by the company and its teh best thing to happen to me during my time at ERAC - even tho I was just about to take my grill lol

I earn more per hour, more per year and work half the time - sometimes a third of the time.

I recommend everyone gets the hell out of this insane company and get yourself a life

At a time where fuel charges hit the roof, more and more people go back to public transport and retail rentals die off as cars are priced off of the road (next year will be interesting for all the big money deals as increases in tax kick in), can ERAC still purport to be 'recession-proof'?

I work 9 -5.30 for more than what you reportedly would earn in 6 years at ERAC and have time to go to the gym, and have a life outside work.

Get out while you can.

Your right. I just quit and the last six months business dropped off by half. You coudlnt rent an suv to save your life. We just used the free time to talk shit to one another and the company. Then my assistant started piping a fresh new mt and made things really interesting.
