| I think maybe youhave to come up with criteria based on... OP Retention (right thats the normal stuff out the way) People they employ directly belwo them What you think of them as a person (most important). Are they approachable? Do they listen? Do they try and persuade or bully yuu into their way of thinking? |

Are you saying you think he has the correct skills to be a great leader? or is he just ther best of a bad bunch? In my opinion he brings the worst out of everyone with stupid intimidation tactics. He used to say his door was alweays open, yet shout and moan at people when he could not answer or did not like a specific challange. This leads on to the other problem, you hear all these fantastic facts about enterprise at managers meetings, however when you challenge enterprise with some poor information, they get ignored or your commitment is under review. Chris, it is very easy to change bad statistics into good ones, with the slight change of wording. But here is some free advise, perhaps admit your short comings and gain trust and motivation with a well thought of contigency plan, that even better could be thought of by intoducing trainees. Remember a good manager gets the best out of their team, rthrough encouragement and praise. Perhaps give it a try, as usual I shall expect no response at all.
