i left erac in U1 a couple of years ago (soon after the split into 5? cities and my life has totally changed. less stress, more free time, more interaction with friends ( i can actually spend weekends them now), more holidays etc. However the major difference was to my health. At erac i was overweight and always tired. i was too tired to cook properly so ended up with oven ready food everyday. i was too tired to look after myself and never went to the gym. i would always justify my lifestyle to myself by saying " but i will earn big money soon". i was too tired to actually realise what was happening to me. I cringe now when i remember telling my friends and family "i'll be earning x amount soon, just you wait and see" i can remember in my area there were loads of fat people doing the same job as me - probobly doing it for the same reasons - big money ( that never materialised). i bet things havent changed much. in fact i passed a branch last month and there was a very fat girl showing a guy round a car. i felt sorry for her as she couldnt have been more than 25 years old and nearly the same in stones. Looking back now i can see i was like a zombie - getting up everyday and going to work for 12 hours only to go home go straight to bed and do the same thing over and over. i actually feel bad about the way i ignored my friends and family for large parts of the year - even leaving my family to go back to work between xmas and new year due to illness of stafff members- something that no one should be forced to do. i say i was "forced" but what i mean is i wasnt "forced" but asked to "do it for the team" by my manager. i feel bad that i let myself be conned into doing stuff like that all the time. i can see now that it is because i was young and impressionable. i will hopefully use those experiences to my benefit in the rest of my life. if this sounds like your life then you know what to do. nobody on this website can force you to leave the company but everbody can tell their own personal experiences which can help you make your mind up. i am not bitter because i managed to get out before any major damage was done, however i can see why some people are bitter due to their experience of erac. Thanks to failing enterprise for letting me tell my story - it actually feels quite good to tell people who can understand the lifestyle etc. would be good to hear of other experiences - similar of different.

...not convinced that you're not taking the p**s, but I do agree in principle. I left recently and have 'ballooned' by 3.5 stones in the 5+ years I was there. However, the weight is slowly but surely coming off....and I also drink less alcohol, eat at sensible times, and sleep far better...oh, and I have friends now too!

I too have put on a fair amount of weight in the last 5 years. When I started I was around the 11.5 stone mark, Im now 15.5..............I could have done with an extra 1.5 stone, but jesus...................4 big ones.... Drink wise...............I was honestly concerened about the amount that I drunk each night. I could quite easily put away 2 cases of beer a week. 48 cans........I would do 1 case monday to thursday, Friday I would get another one in which woud see me through to the weekend. Food, likewise, eat shit at lunch, if you got it.....come home, cant be arsed, too tired, knackered stressed. First thing that came of the of the fridge was a cold can, PHFFT,,,glug glug, then I might say hello to my child and the wife........ Great aint it..................Live the dream..........die of a heart attack.

Yep, this was my life completely whilst at ERAC. Home around 7.30 or 8pm, straight to the fridge for a cold Stella, sit down in front of the TV and be asleep by the time I was half way through the second can. Always take-away or oven-ready crap food too. I've lost over 10 kgs in the 6 months since leaving ERAC. It is hard to have energy for anything else when working at ERAC.
