Default join a union-they cover legal expenses in employment claims!

i reccomend that every ERAC employee should join a trade union, the cost is very small ( usually less than £10.00/month) but they provide HUGE support in the (very likeley) event that you are treated illegally by ERAC. they provide support at all stages, up to and including taking a case to court. Unions like nothing more that taking a case to court to prove a point with a big arrogant employer, and i must say, ERAC will be very rich pickings.

please post your reccomened unions + contact details on this website for all of the poor bastards still slaving away for erac.

very true, when my AM found out i had joined a union, his first response was ' well that was pointless- erac dont recognise unions' i then had to explain to the dull bastard, this is only in relation to collective bargaining agreements (ie where the union represent lots of people to negotiate a pay rise etc etc- they way most professional organisations do it), erac have GOT to recognise UK law, you are legally entitled to be represented by a union rep during any sort of hearing. I was glad i had done this when erac tried to fuck me over with a hearing, they were put back in there place - i received a grovelling apology from the gm. i still left anyway as i should never have had to go through that.

unions historically grew out of the profession they dealt with, the nearest one which is best fit for an ERAC employee is 'Amicus'

check out the website ;

www.amicustheunion.org

they are the biggest 'non specific' union in the UK, serving 1.2 million members

they have lots of regional offices, and regional rep's.

IF YOU WORK AT ERAC, YOU WOULD BE FOOLISH NOT TO HAVE THIS BACK UP!

i am in GMB union, they have been great support when they were needed!

nottingham HQ 0115 960 7171

- you dont have to disclose you are a member (even if directly asked by your employer- if you dont want to)
-they are a nice bit a back up when erac try and fuck you over.

i'm in GMB, and i must admit, it is nice having the back up ready and waiting, ERAC have been OK with me at the moment, but i KNOW its just a matter of time, i have seen several colleages get put throught the mill for nothing, two 'left' (ie were pushed out) by an aggressive bullying city manager (no names). if they try and do this to me, the big green E will get its fingers burnt, and hopefully, most of its arm as well!
anyway, just off to work in the craphole that is sat mornings (should be done by 3 pm though!)

i am in a union, mainly due to being aware of how senior management in u4 think that they can do what ever they like to people..and they get all shocked and surprised when they get their fingers burnt.
