Default Enterprise re-united?

Just an idea for this site. there seem to be a lot of people on here who have left enterprise an use this board as a means of keeping in touch with people who have either also left or still here. Obvioulsy people don`t want to start posting out their email or phone numbers on here, so is there anyway admin could set up a databse, and if people want to contact anyone on the list, admin forward an email request to that person asking them if they don`t mind their details being given to the person requesting? Hope that makes sense...

It sounds like you're looking for a way for people to list, say, their name, group, branch, or whatever and then be able to receive messages from people without giving out their true contact information.

I think you can do this already: Register on the discussion board, announce your name and particulars in a forum, and anyone who wants to Private Message you can do so.

Ahhh, maybe what we need is a special forum for "Missed Connections", or "Whatever Happened To", or "Lost Friends", or similar?

Is this something I should create? What should we call it?

Admin

wrong first time, right second time (do you ever actually sleep?). Just basically a forum where people who have left can leave their email and mobile, and then if anyone has lost touch with them, they can send a message, via here with their own contact details, or be given access to the other persons details with their consent. enterprise reunited (ie play on friends reunited) works well enough as a title

Oh, now I know what you mean by "Friends Reunited": http://www.friendsreunited.co.uk/ It's a U.K. thing. In the U.S., I think www.classmates.com serves a similar purpose.

I'm not encouraged by the thought of creating a new application to do any of this, and I don't want to manage anything like this manually, so I think we'll be limited for now to what we can do through the discussion board.

OK, then, maybe a forum called "Friends Reunited". Where should it go in the hierarchy of the forums that already exist?

Or maybe: "Stage 6. I Want To Keep In Touch With My Old Friends From Enterprise"? You could leave your name and a way to contact you, including Private Messaging is that's what you wanted.

More ideas, please.

You don't know what time zone I'm in (I occasionally travel).

Also, it's been Postcard Week at Failing Enterprise, so I've been staying close to the site as it's a sort of Open House for new members.

nice, what do you use, a blackberry or a palm to access the web when you travel? I need one. I'm not that techno-savvy so you can point me in the right direction since you seem to have a handle on all things web-related.

Oh yeah, and this site is addictive. Damn, I've been trying to only access once per day, but I'm addicted. I need rehab.
