Default The RBS 'a' Group car, a lie in itself

FYI: this is for any and all employees who feel morally challenged with putting the 2.4 family into a 3dr 1.0 ltr Toyota Yaris and the hard sale of an upgrade to RBS customers (70% of our current insurance flow.) We as employees are all told by BM's and ARM's to 'Sell Up' our customers from the 1 litre teeny tiny matiz/ yaris to a Vauxhall Corsa for just £2/3/4 per day to help get the daily rate up. Now I've got no problem with the upgrade sell to a decent size, but heres a fact:
All RBS customers are entitled to a 'B' group car / corsa size automatically. When RBS made the deal with Enterprise to supply all their cars the deal was based on every customer being supplied with a corsa sized vehicle. If any RBS customer actually complains to their insurance at being given or told their getting a matiz/yaris unless they pay for an upgrade, then they will automatically get upgraded to a 'B' Grp. Hell, even on the Tv, Tesco advertise the courtesy car as a bonified 'B' grp Nissan Micra. Ever wondered why the official rate for an 'A' grp is the same as a 'B' grp, well now you know.

not to mention the 'dont sell cdw rule' which is translated by u4 as sell but just put it on the rate!..and if the ins co call, tell them an 'inexperienced trainee' did it by mistake.

I thought with RBS it said somewhere we weren't allowed to put them in anything larger than a Grp C due to insurance - bugger that, sell 'em into that Zafira 2.0 Turbo for £10/day. That helped my sales figures for that month. We'd have been fucked in an accident though. Tesco would not have covered the insurance!!
Typical break the rules to make a sale!!

RBS are my favourite customers ! when i pick these customers up i tell tham they are ony allowed a group B vehicle and dont pay for an upgrade, as you will get a free upgrade if there is no group B vehicles available.

After all its not my commission that will be effected.

Simple rule of thumb I applied was - if we are short of cars and they are nice customers, they will be the ones getting the free upgrades. If they are absolute arseholes, they will get what RBS pay for. If RBS want to upgrade them to a D grp is an extra £4/day ffs. If I do have to give an RBS customer a free upgrade and they are an arsehole, they will be my first call to switch. As for not upgrading them beyond a group D - do it, and transfer their insurance. It may be a blanket policy that normally covers them, but if they crash an ERAc car they will get screwed on insurance. Don`t hard sell it, but offer it all the same.

As for the A/B gr[ difference - a 3 door micra is still a B group.

As for the other upgrade argument (I`m big so I need a big car" - well they should pay for it. If you are 20 stone you may have to pay for 2 seats on an aircraft. Why should you automatically get a bigger car because you cannot stop eating? As for height wise - we have tall employees that will drive around in small cars - no reason a customer cannot do the same or pay for an upgrade. It is written in their policy - a small car (courtesy, not replacement car). Don`t get me wrong, ERAC has many faults, and one of these faults is that customers who bitch and moan and shout loud enough get free stuff, but the realistic and.or nice customers get a matiz. Wrong message people. If we fuck up, I will do what I can to make it up to the customer. If we haven`t,and the customer is an arsehole, the customer doesn`t get jack if I can help it. I think thats fair enough.

what pisses me of with some 'low end'insurance customers is they expect the earth, but when they spent 5 hours calling around for the cheapest, dirtyest insurance quote they didnt want to pay for a good product!

so how can the expect to be treated like they just insured a rolls royce when they crash their L reg Cavalier with 150K on the clock, and an ash tray full of roll up buts?!! (im not talking about drugs-im talking about the peasants way of being able to smoke 100 a day for 75pence.)
not to mention the fact you are going to have to cash qual these scum bags as the 'dont beleive in credit/debit cards'!

I have actually had insurance companies ring me up and ask if we can give their customer a free upgrade becasue they have kids etc etc. I suppose its the least we can do after we charge the insurance companies such extortianate rates in the first place. Well know fact that any barnch with 70%+ RBS business is instantly profitable...
