| Here are the official figures for staff retention, fleet growth and OP by group for the Uk and EIRE for fiscal year to date; Retention OP/car Fleet Growth U8: 77.2% £-27 8.5% NI: 70.25% £-129 119.4% U1: 63.67% £-59 11.47% I1 61.23% £-65 18.58% U3: 60.28% £-35 6.37% U4 58.00% £-32 -1.13% U7: 52.74% £-86 0.40% SC: 51.40% £-50 19.99% U2: 50.88% £-50 9.22% U6: 44.57% £-68 11.81% U5 43.34% £-105 17.8% Given that not a single group in the UK has managed to OP this year, despite most groups enjoying double digit growth, it would appear that massive growth fuelled by a low rate RBS contract does not make for a profitable business model. This is especially under-lined by the fact that the groups that lost the least money per car are those with the lowest fleet growth. Bear in mind that the OP figures are pre-flip, and don't indicate whether the groups actually net-profitted or not, but they are quite worrying. Retention seems to be a major concern, what's going in in U5 and U6?????? |

These figures are from the balance analysis that goes out from UK corporate to GMs, CMs and ARMs. If senior management were going to "keep their staff invoved by throwing made up figures at them", I find it a little unlikely that they would make up figures showing horrendous staff turnover and every group in the UK operating at a loss..... |
