But its up to you as an employee how fast you get there, get thru your training file and the rest is up to you. If your manager was clueless, work hard and take his job. Simple. My senior management aint no fools, crap managers dont go anywhere fast in erac or anyother company. The thing i really like about enterprise is your career is really up to you.
CM? or GM? come on, which one are you?

I cannot believe anyone within ERAC UK has a £429,000 mortgage solely off ERAC earnings. Why did Steve Yockey leave U7? Answer: He couldn't get a decent mortgage because they would only consider a %age of his commission and his basic was derisory. Ask anyone...

To the unregistered "winner", owner of the big house, plasma screen, and all the other things you have surrounded yourself with. I admit to an extent I'm jealous.. I wish I had a £430K house and a plasma screen and a powerbook.

But I don't.

However I also don't feel the need to tell everyone how many things I have to feel good about myself.

Because when I'm down the pub with my mates we can all talk about what we do and have an interesting conversation about what's happening in the world of our respective markets.

However you have made your "fortune" if that is true (which btw I don't think it is) by renting cars, and when all is said and done do you really think that this is something that you want to have spent your life doing? Not that I'm Mother Theresa, or even that my job engages my total interest every second of the day.

Your mates will, at best, humour your attempts to engage them in witty banter about dub etc. That must be great.

Serious comment over. Also you have proved my point. What sort of person would justify their job by saying "I have a big house and loads of stuff". Most people say "I enjoy my job because..."

I'll give you a clue, a crass oaf whose idea of sophistication is alloy wheels.

So my final comment to you is that you shove your big head even further up your own ass you tosser

I am only 8months into the job as i already mentioned, so i dont have any real loyalty to ERAC. I am a moral person and i explain to my customers the whole process of the rental, even what happens if any damage does happen to a car while on rent. It is a sales job also selling such things as XS protection, it costs a little more, but has a very real benefit. You (the renter) has no liability on the car at all, even if you write it off. It is peace of mind! Now as a graduate from university, this job has given me so much regarding business skills, people skills, management skills etc. You cant please 100% of customers all the time in any profession - it just aint so! What i want to say to any potential Management Trainee out there looking at this site, read it, digest it, but apply anyway baring in mind that almost every major company out there has a site similar to this. If you dont agree with something - do something to change it, provide the service you want to recieve yourself. Enterprise is a good place to be, i know i am there!
You are real. In fact this was written by someone in the recruitment department. Looks like they have taken it all from the enterprise website, if not those corney "day in the life of an enterprise trainee" pages on the U.S Website. Still not as bad as Joss Rutherford dancing on a photocopier, if it was me I would sitting on the damn thing having a crap. I also heard a romour that U199 hired the photocopier for 1 day, thought it looked out of place, far too new and modern.

Very true, they did hire the copier....Was a concern that it might get broken though.

As for spunk monkey saying that they work in a northern group, with a less than 10% employee quit rate, then they are talking out of their arse.

As for the person who has been with the firm for 8 months and loves it.....This is your first job right.........Straight out of Uni. Well you enjoy yourself for a while, go knock yourself out, go hammer them upgrades, do the dub, give it some high fives and a "Holla" with your city managers, treat them customers right, its all for you mate...............its your company, your business, your money....................

Well it aint. . . . . The good times are gone, enjoy your 55hrs a week plus, enjoy not making money, flip is gone, your bad debts will be crap, group overheads are up and will continue to rise. More shit rates on national business, I just love being in control of my own destiny.

Its called looking for another job.

Excellent post.
The reason I left ERAC was that I was sick of working with people who thought that money was the only thing in the world. I've never thought liked that, As long as I have enough to do what I want to do I'm fine. There's no point having money if you don't have time to do what you want with it. Also most possesions are worthless once you've bought them. Now I like nice things, like Zildjian cymbals and Nike football boots, but they don't own me.

As for being materialistic?? Yeah i wont apologise for that at all. I love gadgets and my 53" Plasma looks fantastic this evening under my RC lighting...

Hows ya bedsit????? If you have found a better job then good luck to you I happen to like mine thank you. There are loads of opportunities at ERAC with a bit of hard work and dedication .... the skys the limit....
clearly some dimwitted level 3, or prob a city manager, still in denial about the true state of erac uk. still kidding himself that the next pay cheque will clear the debt, still kidding himself that it is a cyclical business and the good old days are just round the corner, just one more month on payback, still kidding himself that all the hours he puts in are worth it. still kidding himself that he is pissing his own life down the drain, whilst his wife is getting it elsewhere because he will be able to retire at 45.
when will the kidding stop? most people on here have had the bollocks and strength of mind to make the good decision (to leave). you know im right, you will be sat at home, mortgaged to the hilt, waking at night thinking about all of this, as you are reading this, you will feel sick, beacuse deep down inside of you, your orginal self, the person you were before joining this cult will be telling you i am right. I truly pitty you for not being your own person. If i thought that for a split second that you (and your ilk) were truly happy, and successfull, i wouldnt bother to write this. but sadly I KNOW THE TRUTH.
