But why lie (or fib) in the first place if you tell the truth then there would be no worries about any come back surely?

Wow what a fan base I have.

I would like to stress that I have NEVER come on here "unregistered"

However a few white lies never hurt anyone. I do know the unregisted person who came to my wedding reception, and he works in remarketing in U1.

The unregistered people are always so angry !!! Why ??

Well, this is definitely a problem. I'll have to think about this some more.

Anyone have thoughts on this?

Has anyone really been caught out on this? I haven't heard anything.
Yes. If you say something group/area specific and someone gets interested and reads all of your posts and figures out who you are, they call you on it in a fun meeting. I knew someone this happened to. People that don't have a genuine interest in the site won't read it enough to watch specific unregistered posters that post with the same name often, but it's really easy and not all that time consuming to pull up a user and read their posts and piece together who they are if they're not extremely careful with specifics they post.

This is a very strong argument for not requiring registration in order to post. I think I'll let the idea sit for a while.

Did something change while I was out? I thought this didn't require you to be registered to post?

Someone in this forum requested a "registered-only" configuration, and we were discussing it. I'm running an experiment in a new forum (see main discussion board page) that requires registering, but it's not doing much.

I think things are going to pretty much stay the same.
