Default The biggest problem with ERAC

The 70's software.

If your going to take ERAC into the 21st century you can't do it with those 'PONG' type green screens (RALPH). The job is demanding and you need to be able to rely on software that can grasp information quickly. How many times do you find yourself asking whether its AA0040 OR AA0020 to get a reg number. Let alone the mission of AR's. Modern business software, such as SAGE for the accounts, would solve so many problems. The reason so many trainees are given a sponge for the first two weeks is because of the headache at explaining the whole logging-in process, let alone the rest of it!! Even when you know what you are doing, RALPH is not efficient and its frustrating.

Its the reason why all the admin departments struggle as well -

The reason why your JV's are processed wrong is because of RALPH.

The reason why you can't understand any of your AR's and why do you have thousands of pounds on your run that you don't know about???? -

Down to old Ralph again as all AR screens and banking are very much seperate entities (and there are dozens of A/R and banking screens!). A program like Sage/Iris is more integral, less hasle and it would be able to offer matches for you and it would let the AR's get to that stage where you need to spend five days on the 110/111 screen while your rate goes down the pan as your MA has taken over while you sort out the mess.

ERAC's problem is that they have not caught up with the rest of British commerce, they still persist in employing graduates who's educational grade 20 years ago, would not have got them a second interview for a shop assistant.
With few exceptions todays graduates are ignorant, almost illiterate, and without grace or common sense. For proof of these statements, read the posts on this site.

Ha Ha, brilliant! What a dick head! Who's the thick cock now???

No I'm not working at Sage, I’m still at the company. I wrote that message after a day of frustration. My point was that using a 70's software system is just not feasible anymore. Especially when you are in a position where you need to access a lot of data from different areas of the company. (Something that most of you managers don't need to do at the branch.)

Graduates aren't the problem. The problem is ERAC advertising a bundle of lies and false promises, so who's to blame if the graduates turn out to be disgruntled as they progressively find out that what they were told was all a load of bollocks. ERAC is the problem as THEY choose to hire the 2:2 graduates. That is because the 2:2 graduates are made to think they have landed a dream job and trying to leave afterwards is more difficult than if you aced your Degree.
