You can give notice you want to sign off the opt out clause. According to the EU working hours directive it means in the UK you can then work no more than 48 hours a week. To be honest though, I know everyone has a crap day every now and then, but it's rare people work more than 48 hours. I guess it would only be an issue if an assistant manager did it. If they did I'm sure ERAC would find another way to get rid of them!!

What are you on? The branches are 'officially' open for 50 hours a week without Saturdays and ERAC employees are notorious for not having lunch-breaks. Add to that the fact that they are expected in at 7.30 for the latest and begin once they get in means there is an extra 4.5 hours per week before you take into account late deliveries or having to get cars from other branches or the - unpaid- city meetings... It's more like 60 hours a week minimum at branches that have high corporate demand. __________________ Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? |

Most people I know, not including assistant managers, don't always work more than 48 hours. Unless it's a really busy day ppl get a lunch break. I'm not saying working over 48hours doesn't happen, but most employees get to work at 8, not 7.30 as you suggest, and leave by 18.30 with an hours break. And I still work there, so I'm not making this up! Maybe it depends what group you work in.

I can guarantee you that in my group (U8) about 90% of MTs get to work at 8, have an hours lunch and leave mostly before 18.30. If we have a branch/area meeting after work we put it on our time sheets. And if you are working saturday, you get and early finish or late start to compensate. Is it any wonder there are so many U1 employees on this site if this isn't the case elsewhere? With respect Tim O'Tei, I currently work in U8, so I am not talking bollocks as you put it.

What a witty reposte. As I said in the other thread, you ave a singular inability to enter into any discussion without using abusive terms. Perhaps it's because you're a bit scared... __________________ Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
