Default Re: Bad Tires

Dear God, don't get me started on the lost or locked in keys and EVERY SINGLE RENTER's attitude that it was ERACs fault.

But back to the tires. Yes, ERAC rents cars with low tread but I think the legal limit is 3/32nd, which is lower that what I'd want in my car, so ERAC should be more aware of tire tread. But what bothers me is when some dolt takes a sharp corner with wet roads at 60+ mph and rolls the car and takes no personal responsibility.

"Hmmm, maybe I should have taken that corner at the posted 25mph required speed limit. But oh well, It's not my fault. I'll blame the tires, or the brakes, or the steering, or the fact that the car wasnt clean enough for my high standards when I rented it, or the alignment of the moon and the sun, but certainly I won't blame myself!!!"

After a few seconds of looking at her and realizing nothing was there, she still didn't understand why I wasn't excepting it.

I eventually put her in a car with bald tires and expired tags and sent her on her way.....
Then I clicked on this link: www.ragarcialaw.com/alert...ental.html

If I am not mistaken, Avis *DOES* accept Sears cards for rental deposits... Something about some corporate connection the two at the Cendant level...

I could be wrong, but I don't think so...
