Nobody here disconnects batteries to make the bad lights go away, as I've seen in other offices. We just get'em done. However WTF is wrong with Nissans this year? Altimas specifically...they burn oil like a junkie without a fix. We gotta keep them up and running, they're the fave of ghetto clientle. Everyone needs a bedroom on wheels, gots to get fucked up on blunts, eat some MacD's, rip part of some trick's weave out and Newport the car out. Jus' leave all de evidence inside and ask for a switch out. Which we give no questions asked, cuz we forgot to write anything about smoking or detail fees, or note that shit on the contract.

Some of the newer Nissian Altimas are having serious problems right now where the oil needs to be checked\replaced every 700-800 miles...

Unfortunatly like every company we are only as good as our weakest link, in our case the employee at the rental counter. Many of these weak links are now posters to this site as they could not maintain the business ethics and good judgement required to be a star at ERAC.
You're kidding. Sure, spin the blame away from yourself. Any "business ethics" and "good judgement" at ERAC that you speak of is learned from your upper management in the first place.

Or are you going to call them weak links too? You have to wonder where upper management learned it, who taught them and further up the ladder you go....

This past weekend I was in a nightmare because of ERAC! I have been on the phone trying to get a response from enterprise more than we are sorry and here are 2 free car rentals. If they do not respond you better believe I am going to do my best to get my story to dateline or 20/20. I am a 23 year old female who was left stranded in a bad part of Memphis on the side of the interstate for hours. The car had no interior lights(could not see anything on the dashboard) and then the tire blew out. The employee's at ERAC were so rude to me it was unbelievable. I will post my story later on the web. I do not have time right now. Anyways, I think this is the worst company I have ever dealt with in my whole life. Everyone that I have told my full story to have said that they have never heard anything like it.

Yup, I believe it. I am a female in my thirties and had horrid expereince with Enterprise and I am a former employee!! I purchased a car from ERAC in their Rialto office in So. Calif. I had the car for four months and noticed that the paint was cracking off the bumper. I called them and the finance mgr., Daniel, with no people skills or customer service experience made me do the footwork. He had ME call the place that orginally repainted the OX, and then Loss Control, and Remarketing because he did not want to assist me. He tried to get out of paying for it when all the other departments insisted it was a Car Sale issue and they needed to take care of it. He was rude on the phone and I told him that I worked in Car Sales for over four years and I always took care of my customers for such issues. This is not the first time I have seen a car retouched for scratches and the paint came off months later. My group we redid the work. I had to drive from San Francisco to get to the office and he made an appointment for me to come in. I get to the Rialto office and the Recon center in the back didn't know I was coming. It turns out they would have to keep the car overnight. I asked if they were going to pay for my rental and their response "We have to watch our pennies." That was it. Idiots that they are, they left me to wander the car sale lot and talk with customers who also had issues. We shared our stories and their customer service experience treatment and the bedside manner of the employees. I was treated as if I had leporsy and complete rudeness. The other customers who were getting their cars painted got rental cars. When I went to the rental office and told them my story..even they could not believe that I was paying for a rental car. They could be rude to me because I was a former employee, but I am still a customer!! The whole ironic thing was that when I came to my parent's house in So. California the ESQI letter that was sent to ask me how my car sale experience was mailed to their house. In car sales everyone who buys a car gets an ESQI letter and if the first box is not checked "completely satisfied" they get DINGED!!! I am sending it out and along with a copy of the complaint letter I filed with the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs, Automotive Repair.

My suggestion is find out the Dept of Consumer Affairs in Tennessee. Also, pray that you get the phone call and tell them you were not completely satisfied.

Going on a bit of a rant here.....

Take a look in the mirror every once in a while.

(1) Customer calls: "The car won't start." We send a tow truck out later to discover that the gas tank has 94% water in it.

(2) Someone offed themselves in a rental. Had purchased coverage. We contacted the insurance company about the $3500+ in damage stating we denied coverage because it was wanton and willful. Case ended up in court because the insurance company wouldn't pay for their insured blowing their brains out in our car. Did I mention that just before that, he attempted to murder his ex-girlfriend?

(3) Customer leaves dog unattended in car for 3-4 hours. Dog proceeds to chew dash, instrument cluster, side impact airbag, various wiring. Did I mention they had CDW? Yeah....we forked over for that one.

Take a look at what you do in these units. I know it's "just a rental" (hell, the #2 off-road vehicle in a magazine in 03 was any rental car), but an Expedition isn't designed to go over the Rubicon (ask me about this one later).

I challenge you at any point in time to tell me how well-maintained your personal car is. Is it due for an oil change? Maybe you've moved and a recall notice hasn't made it to your new address. All I can say is that a bunch of us work our asses off to make sure you're safe. What have you done in or to a rental that you wouldn't do to your own car?

Aren't those 3 cases rare though?

Wish I could say they were.

Truck getting covered under warranty: the hub bearing went out on it. The customer who was in the car drove it for such an extended period of time ignoring the noise that the wheel, hub, caliper bracket, and break line came apart propelling the wheel a good 20 yards in front of the truck. Just turn the radio up!

Don't get me started on Diesel fuel in cars. The pump is a completely different color! And the damn nozzle doesn't fit in the bung! Yeah, once a month, I have a diesel claim.

Customer claimed accident as a result of a brake defect. The maufacturer came out to examine the car and plug in their "black box reader" (yes they exist. Well, guess what? The car won't stop if your foot isn't on the brake.

The point? We can maintain our cars perfectly. But there are some people who should be sterilized to prevent them from infecting the rest of the gene pool.

You think cars are bad?????????????? Try taking a look at truck rental. No matter what they do, about 1/2 of the fleet is out of legal limits most of the time.
