Default how can you tell that based on her post?

i reread her post, and there is no mention of any existing customer that she is trying to help.

@ Admin: As someone who has proclaimed the worth of the MBA they claim to have, please tell us how you believe that if someone breached the terms of the contract they signed, then how they can expect the other signatory of the contract to honour it?!

Whilst I have read some very reasonable or valid comments in your posts, you do at times seem blinkered by bitterness toward ERAC and it's a shame more than anything else.

Default Re: Enterprise refusing to provide coverage after accident

Unlike other rental car companies, Enterprise does not provide "real insurance" for its renters to meet statutory insurance rquirements, Instead Enterprise self insures, ie. posts a bond etc with state authorities. A person who rents from Enterprise and who does not have his or her own liabilty coverage and who does not buy the erroneously named "supplemental liability coverage" is really driving without insurance. If that person injures somebody while driving an Enterprise car, Enterprise may pay the injured party up to the statutory minimum limit, but will then turn around and sue its unfortunate and no doubt very surprised customer who learns too late that there never was insurance to protect him. Just another little cost savings for all you bargain price shoppers from the big green. Surprise!

Since you raised the point what happens if one was to rent from another rental company with "real insurance" in the same scenario you described. Many companies with significant vehicle fleets, not only rental cars, are self insured. Also ERAC is not self insured in every state.

Default slp

15 years ago when I was working in rental, I would refuse to rent to uninsured people. SLP or not. They would have to go out and get a 1 month insurance policy which I called on and confirmed. That may seem harsh, but that protected the renter and ERAC.

Now, under our "wonderful" litigious society it is seen as discriminitory and you can NOT force someone to take the SLP. Ultimately, it is the person signing the rental agreement who should be aware of all circumstances. Why should ERAC pay for damages created by a negligent renter who wouldnt/didnt take the SLP and knew they had no auto insurance??

What the @#$! happened to personal responsibility? Oh, that's right. It's always someone elses fault...!! And no, I don't bleed green, I'm just sick of noone taking any responsibility for themselves. That is all.
