Re: Unemployment, has ERAC fought yours? "fought" ? ... wait a minute ! ERAC does n o t have to "fight" unemployment for them to refuse $-benefits to dismissed employees and I am talking from experience. I've applied for UE in the past (prior to ERAC) and NEVER had a problem being granted and collecting benefits ... ever! However, while applying for benefits after my BLESSED departure from ERAC, it became pretty clear pretty fast that no benefits would be paid to me after the one year I've spent slaving in 3 branches for this company. Not even after a low life co-worker tried to poison me with a powerful car cleaning chemical he had poured into my softdrink (I still have the evidence), still no go ! The reason why ERAC does not have to "fight" unemployment for refusal of benefits to dismissed employees is simply because ERAC has had this thing sewed up with unemployment forever. One only think for one minute of HOW MANY employees get fired on daily basis everywhere the green monster has branches in the US and elsewhere. For whatever reason one is dismissed, doesn't matter WHAT the reason is, ERAC has it set up with unemployment that dismissal was because of "willful misconduct" .. period ! "Willful misconduct" constitutes flat out denial of UE benefits, read their guidelines ! I even consulted an attorney friend of mine about and because of the denial of unemployment benefits and further on regarding an appeal to "fight" back, but was in no uncertain terms advised that I'd have better chance to kill Goliath with a sewing needle ! then get UE to see things my way: the TRUTHFUL way. In other words: denying dismissed employees unemployment benefits is some kind of atrocious, grotesque "marriage" that ERAC has had, has and will maintain with unemployment which is a happy, UNENDING union between the two, for what its worth. Anyone reading this working at, and "working on getting fired from ERAC and collect unemployment on them" be forwarned, it will n o t work ! Just a friendly warning ... My advice is this: If it becomes as unbearable on the job as many, including me and some other nice folks I've met during my tenure at ERAC have had to suffer, apply your energy towards updating your resume, networking, making tons of calls and job contacts and scheduling interviews for new employment. This is one way to deflate the unspoken humiliation that is waiting for you if you are "working on" getting fired and/or "smell" that it might happen. Don't get mad, GET EVEN ! Good luck to all - don't fear the green machine, but rather fear for your INTEGRITY ! "been there / done it" |
