well, i just won my unemployment claim against ERAC

They fought it vigorously but 3 times the state ruled in my favour.
It was/is very gratifying to know that erac will be footing my wages the next 26 weeks...i feel little remorse about collecting considering the time, effort, and yrs i put into the company for peanuts.
My situation was fucked up from the beginning...as an mt at a satellite, i had someone train me for two weeks then poof, he transferred, leaving me solo w/a prep or two. with little or no supervision, i did things completely my way, dressed how i wanted (polo/khaki), and closed up daily for a lunch (put a will return clock in the door).
and guess what...the sky did not fall, customers were not pissed, and i op'ed for 5 months in a row (two of which were record months in the branch's 7 yr history). furthermore, i had slight fleet growth, though i forget the amount.

but...i never was a strong dub slinger. I always offered it but i guess i'm not a good salesmen. more on this later.
so for the first few months i actually liked this job...my ARM was never around, i didn't have too many walk-ins, mostly corp and dealership rentals. though i had my reservations about being a car renter, i kinda felt professional and i enjoyed my corp customers.
to help out with the winter accident rush, i was given a intern who was a bit older than me...she was female, part time, and had been with the company a few months more than me.
this gal sucked from day one. never on time, lied on her time sheets, wouldn't wash cars...at first i tried to ignore it, but it grated on my sense of responsibility and i mentioned it to my ARM. nothing ever came of it, the guy just wouldn't man up and help me out with the situation...he tried to blame my leadership style (little did i know then he didn't want the retention hit). so i let it go....
a few months went on...this gal could sell and her numbers were always in the hundreds (though she couldn't go to matrix dinners due to being an intern). so this selling got her the spotlight while i was in the shadows.
her old tricks of lateness and slackitude continued, grating on me...i thought this was my business and i couldn't help but take it personal. after a while i just stopped caring, fuck after all i was making zero commission and had little chance of promotion due to my numbers.
I finally pulled my sales numbers up for three months, starting getting a little props but no acknowledgment from my ARM about grilling...he was distant and never around.
come summer time, i get a call from my ARM about a transfer to a super distant branch. he phrased the situation as "the last person couldn't hack it"
and i bought right into it.
little did i realize that the distant branch was in complete disarray, never op'ed in it's entire existence, zero branches within 300 miles to gain or lose cars from, and zero employees ever to make it out of the branch as erac employees.
i figured the distance would be fun, little chance of corp tards dropping in so i took it. of course i received no bump in pay for this move, though i did recieve a moving bonus, the only bonus i've ever heard of at erac.
right when i get moved and get to work, my RRM quits. then my ARM quits.
the BM i was working with at my new branch was completely jaded and could give a fuck about erac...so in comes the new batch of management, shipped from some far off state to make big money.
...the new ARM was a complete tool who preached all the bs about book no look, how the economy had nothing to do with car rental, phantom sellups, etc.
the book no look particularly pissed me off, considering we had a limited access of cars...and the same with the shameless phantom sell.
i couldn't just stfu and take it like a good drone, i voiced my displeasure...steadily the bunk write ups started coming in, seriously the most stupid nit picking write ups and i refused to sign them.
and to top it off, my old intern got promoted and was the talk of my ARM...he couldn't get enough of her awesome sales and preached to me how great she was (i do not mean to imply there was ever any sexual connection between them). the lying on the time sheets, the coming in late, the lack of getting dirty in the car wash all was forgiven for being able to hustle dub.
all this boiled over on a particularly busy weekday when i was solo with my driver (bm on vacation)...i had to drive 20 miles to pick some bitch up.
while i was gone a ins last minute arms res was sent and the lady came in.
she was ultra pissed that no one was there, so she called the main office to complain.
this prompted a surprise visit by my ARM the next day and resulted in my termination...when asked for the specifics on my fire he claimed that i had three write ups in two months and that it was erac policy to let me go after three...thankfully i didn't sign them and the unemployment agency shot down erac 3 times much to my delight
have fun paying my wages the next half-year bitchs!

I know how you feel my fellow ex-racer. Please, come join us in the forum for ex employees. Its a great place to be really. Fond memories of customers and upper management, the kool aid drinking hypocrites, and DUB being king. Trust me when I say this, they did you a favor by letting you go. Sure, you'll have the label of "couldn't hack it", but they have to pay you for half a year while you can sit and relax. Also, look for a job you'll like. I'm sure you have a lot better idea of what that'll be now.

He bashes the company because it IS built on bullshit phony values. The customers and employees are NOT taken care of and profits are all they care about. Dub Sales=PURE PROFIT thats why they push it so hard and that is why promotions are based upon it in the beginning. Since you have not made it far or you are one of the dopes that squeeked through the system you will know that they want to see how much crap you can sell , so you can BS all the accounts in your area. It is a company full of lies , just admit it already. He suckles at the tit because it is basically a free paycheck. If you make it to ARM you can basically stay home all day and work from your home computer(yes there is RALPH at Home) take a few phonecalls, maybe drop into a few branches and do your daily chores all on ERAC's dime (gas/free car) and also get paid for doing it. The job is a complete joke and the Level 4's require daily ass kissing to ALLOW you to get to the next level. Enough already the company is not worth MY time.
