Multiple Dishonored Promises, Defection To Hertz

My name is Aileen Abellar and I would like to share my experience in dealing with Enterprise Rent-a-car.

Two weeks before Sept.12, I had reserved a van with Enterprise. A week before the said date, I decided that I wanted to rent a car instead. So I called them and informed them of the change in vehicles. I specifically told them that I'm calling earlier to avoid problems, and so the car is ready for pick up on that date.

When I went there on Sept. 12,2005 (Monday), the Enterprise representative told me that no one had entered the change I have requested into their computer; so they kept insisting that I take home a van. After a long discussion, the Enterprise representative settled on giving me a Pontiac Bonneville. On my way home, I found that I wasn't comfortable driving the car because it was too big. Knowing this, I called Enterprise and told them that I wanted a smaller vehicle. The receptionist I spoke with told me that I could bring the Pontiac back at 2:00 pm to exchange it. At 2:00, I called to make sure that the car was ready but I was told that it wasn't and that I should go back at 3:30pm. I went back at 3:30 only to be told that they still didn't have a car for me.

All this time, Enterprise representatives kept on insisting that I take home a van or the Bonneville. By this time, I was really getting angry, so I went home and called the insurance company whose representative called Enterprise and put us on three way. The Enterprise representative told the Insurance representative and I that they already have a car for me. That in fact it was being washed as we spoke and will be delivered to my house at 4:30 pm that same day. 4:45pm comes along and still no car, so I called Enterprise only to find out that they still didn't have a car for me. So the next day, I returned the Bonneville and switched to Hertz who picked me up and gave me the car I wanted.

I just thought I'd share my horrible experience with what happened to me, I swear that I would never, never rent a car from Enterprise again. And I intend to spread the word to my family and friends.
