Enterprise Car Sales Issues
I happened upon your website as I was searching for a phone number for
headquarters.
I am about to purchase a car from Enterprise. It has been a nightmare! My
credit union advised me how much they would finance. I went to Enterprise car
sales department. They showed me a car that was more than the credit union would
finance. I told them that my credit union would not go that high, but they said,
"Oh that's O.K., we will take care of the balance. I was thrilled.
I went to my credit union---and guess what they said"? "You can't do that.
You'll have to take the car back". The problem----you can't have two lien
holders. Makes sense when you hear it, but since I don't work in finance, I
didn't give any thought to what Enterprise was going to arrange.
The credit union manager was enraged and called Enterprise. They pretended
that I had not told them anything and maintained to me "We didn't do anything
wrong". I decided to go to a dealer and purchase a less expensive car, but I
really don't want it. I went back to Enterprise, spoke to the manager, told him
that I was very unhappy with the way I had been handled, and asked him to find a
solution. To his credit, he found the car I want at a lower price. To his
discredit, he didn't tell me that the bumper is damaged. Since Enterprise had
promised to "touch up" a few imperfect spots on the first car, they assured me
that painting the bumper would be no problem.
Now that I have secured financing and I'm ready to pick up the car, they told
me that they would order the paint, give it to me, and I can paint the bumper as
they don't know anything about painting cars. I pointed out that not only had
they led me to believe that they would fix any imperfections, but if they don't
know to paint, then how can I know how, since I am not in the car business.
The car is a good deal. It comes with a good warranty. But I am so
frustrated. I am supposed to pick the car up tomorrow. If I still don't like the
way the bumper looks, then what? I have to have transportation to work. Thanks
for the insight. I plan to call the numbers you provided and tell them my story.
